Turkish local officials conduct neighborhood visits to address infrastructure
Local officials in Turkey are conducting community outreach and infrastructure planning through neighborhood visits. In Yomra, Mayor Mustafa Bıyık met with local tradespeople in the Sancak neighborhood to discuss municipal services and listen to direct feedback regarding local needs.
In Battalgazi, Mayor Bayram Taşkın and AK Party Malatya Deputy Bülent Tüfenkci visited the Yıldıztepe, Kıraç, and Hatunsuyu neighborhoods. Discussions focused on road repairs, sewage, water infrastructure, and natural gas connections. Mayor Taşkın noted that service demands have increased due to population shifts following recent earthquakes. He also highlighted a 30 million lira project to consolidate broadcast transmitters in Yıldıztepe, for which an initial 10 million lira grant has been secured, aiming to reduce visual pollution and create recreational spaces.
