Turkish Minister Says Discord May Be Reopened After Meeting Content Criteria
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the Discord platform, which was blocked by Ankara prosecutors over failures to supply data on child sexual abuse material, has now satisfied Turkey’s content‑extraction requirements. He said the government is discussing the reopening with relevant ministries and expects the service to be restored, though no specific date was provided. The block had previously also applied to Roblox, and Discord has begun cooperating with Turkish regulatory authorities to address the complaints.
The decision follows earlier statements that the platform would remain inaccessible until it complied with legal demands for content removal and data sharing.
