Turkish Ministries plan recruitment of 60,000 school staff

The Turkish Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Interior are planning to hire more than 60,000 personnel to enhance security and cleaning services in schools.

Under the proposed plan, approximately 30,000 security personnel will be recruited through İŞKUR via the Community Benefit Program (TYP). These workers are expected to support school security at entrances, exits, and gardens for a limited term of approximately nine months. Unlike professional private security guards, these staff members will have different job descriptions and uniforms, focusing on assisting security units and coordinating with law enforcement when necessary.

Additionally, the plan includes the recruitment of approximately 30,000 cleaning staff. While the specific employment model for cleaning services is still being finalized, discussions include the potential reuse of subcontracting systems to meet the needs of schools. Wages for the TYP security staff are expected to be at the minimum wage level, with İŞKUR covering the costs.
