Turkish muhtar associations hold coordination meetings in Kahramanmaraş and Silifke

The Dulkadiroğlu Muhtarlar Association in Kahramanmaraş organized an istişare meeting led by association president Yakup Uğur. Four new muhtars – Resul Karademir, Muammer Ay, Cemal Aşçı and Cuma Akkoyun – were introduced and presented with plaques and gifts. Participants emphasized neighbourhood solidarity, improved communication with public institutions and faster delivery of local services.

In Silifke, Mersin, a separate gathering brought together 81 muhtars and municipal officials at the Social Life Center. The meeting focused on identifying priority neighbourhood needs, streamlining citizen‑feedback mechanisms and strengthening coordination between the Muhtarlık İşleri Department and the metropolitan municipality. Attendees agreed to hold similar sessions regularly and to monitor the implementation of joint action plans.
