Turkish municipal police seize 2 tonnes spoiled food in Gaziantep, inspect markets in Aydın
In Gaziantep, the Şehitkamil Municipality Zabıta (municipal police) conducted a routine food‑safety inspection and discovered roughly two tonnes of rotting dry pastries stored in violation of hygiene rules. The products were seized, the establishment was shut down, the goods were destroyed, and legal action was taken against the operator.
Separately, Zabıta teams from the Germencik Municipality in Aydın Province inspected several chain supermarkets, checking price tags, expiration dates, recommended consumption dates, and the proper maintenance of cold‑chain conditions for perishable items. The mayor emphasized that such checks will continue regularly to protect consumer health.
