Turkish municipal theatres showcase new productions and youth courses

In Eskişehir, the Odunpazarı Municipality Theatre presented the student‑driven play “Duygu Tamirhanesi,” directed by Hüseyin Demir and written by Mehmet Sarıkaya. The production, staged in a deteriorating historic theatre building, dramatized the murder of the lead character Gül by her ex‑husband to highlight the impact of gender‑based violence.

In İzmir’s Karşıyaka district, the municipal theatre announced summer theatre courses for children and teenagers, with auditions on 27‑28 June and classes beginning 1 July. The program offers training in acting, diction, improvisation and more, and successful participants may join the Karşıyaka Theatre ensemble for the season.
