Turkish Municipalities Aid Farmers with Hay Bales and Irrigation Projects

Silivri Municipality in Istanbul Province distributed hay bales harvested from its own agricultural lands to local producers, helping livestock owners meet feed and shelter needs while lowering production costs. The municipality’s planned deliveries across neighbourhoods aim to strengthen rural development and sustain the district’s farming sector.

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality completed a drilling project in the Saruhanlı district’s Koldere neighbourhood, creating a new water source capable of irrigating about 2,500 decares of vineyards and olive groves. Mayor Besim Dutlulu said the work “solves the irrigation shortage in Saruhanlı” and will boost crop yields. Local cooperative leaders welcomed the water supply as a vital relief during drought periods.
