Turkish municipalities announce university student support packages

Municipalities in Sancaktepe and Bursa have launched financial aid programs for university students for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Sancaktepe Municipality is providing 20,000 TL in education support to students who have newly placed in state universities or 100% scholarship programs at foundation universities. Additionally, students studying within Istanbul will receive a monthly transportation allowance of 653 TL for eight months. Applications for Sancaktepe must be submitted in person between October 15 and October 26, 2026.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality is offering non-refundable education support to associate and bachelor's degree students facing financial difficulties. To qualify, applicants must be Turkish citizens with at least one parent residing in Bursa. Students in foundation universities must be enrolled in 100% scholarship programs. Applications will be accepted online from October 19 to November 1, 2026, with payments distributed in three installments during December, March, and June.
