Turkish municipalities develop new public parks and recreational spaces

Municipalities in Turkey are advancing local urban development projects through the creation and expansion of public recreational spaces.

In Çayırova, renovation and expansion work is nearing completion at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Park. Spanning 18,500 square meters, the project includes walking paths, green spaces, and various amenities such as fitness areas, a basketball court, a carpet pitch, and social facilities. The park is designed to serve as a central social hub for local residents, featuring dedicated play areas for children aged 3-6 and 6-12.

In Konya, the Karatay Municipality is developing the Karatay Skateboard and Bicycle Park on a 5,820-square-meter site near Mengene Park. The project features a 2,850-square-meter pump track specifically for skateboard and bicycle users. The area will also include grass zones, walking paths, and playgrounds to provide a comprehensive recreational environment for children and youth.
