Turkish municipalities expand local sports infrastructure and community programs

Municipalities in Turkey are advancing local sports and community engagement initiatives. In Sakarya, the Metropolitan Municipality has reached a significant stage in constructing four new sports areas across three neighborhoods in Karasu and Kocaali. These facilities will include football pitches, mini football fields, and basketball and volleyball courts to provide local youth with modern athletic spaces.

In Kayseri, the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Sports Inc. concluded its 2026 summer season of 'Nature is Calling' family nature camps. The program, held at locations including the Sarımsaklı Dam Camp Area, hosted approximately 2,000 participants across seven organized weekends. Activities included morning sports, nature walks, team games, and social events such as live music and campfire gatherings.
