Turkish municipalities inaugurate science center and community facilities in Manisa and Balıkesir
Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Besim Dutlulu and Salihli District Mayor Mazlum Nurlu opened the foundation stone of the Dr. Erdal Yıldırım Science Center, a 82‑million‑lira project that will include laboratories, a 24‑hour library and a science park for the district. The ceremony highlighted a broader investment drive covering infrastructure, water and green‑space projects in Salihli.
In Balıkesir, Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Akın presided over a series of openings in the town of Ivrindi, including a new Kent Lokantası, a BALMEK vocational training centre, a synthetic‑grass sports field and the Ivrindi‑Kocaeli road. Akın emphasized the municipality’s commitment to provide low‑cost meals, job training and improved transport without partisan distinction.
Both events illustrate Turkish local governments’ focus on delivering public facilities and services to residents through collaborative funding and rapid project rollout.
