Turkish municipalities launch livestock breeding support and youth farmer academy

Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality and Seyitgazi Municipality signed a cooperation protocol to strengthen small‑ruminant breeding. In a ceremony in Taşlık Mahallesi, 30 selected producers received breeding bucks to improve the genetic quality of their herds. Local officials, including Eskişehir deputy mayor Hasan Ünal and Seyitgazi mayor Uğur Tepe, highlighted the program’s role in rural development and noted its importance for women entrepreneurs, with one farmer saying, “Bu koçluk programı benim için çok değerli oldu.”

In Amasya, the Genç Çiftçi Akademisi was launched to train young farmers in modern agricultural techniques and business management. Coordinated by the Amasya Damızlık Sığır Yetiştiricileri Birliği and supported by the provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the academy provides instruction on efficient crop and livestock production, silage methods, and entrepreneurship, aiming to turn farming into a professional, profitable sector.
