Turkish municipalities launch major cultural and urban projects
Municipalities in Turkey are advancing significant cultural and social infrastructure projects. In Kayseri, the Kocasinan Municipality is entering the final stages of an additional fountain project for the Kurşunlu Mosque. Designed to complement the historical texture of the 1573 structure built by the architect Mimar Sinan, the project aims to provide an aesthetic and functional living space for worshippers and visitors.
In Bursa, the Yıldırım Municipality has broken ground on the Duaçınarı Culture and Life Center, a 2 billion lira investment. The 36,000-square-meter facility is designed as a ‘green building’ with self-sustaining energy capabilities. The center will feature an 800-capacity conference and theater hall, art galleries, training areas, 91 offices, and 64 commercial shops. Local officials noted that the project will be completed without utilizing the municipal budget.
