Turkish municipalities launch park and garden clean‑up campaigns

The Kırıkkale Municipality’s Park and Garden Directorate is carrying out continuous landscaping, waste collection and invasive weed removal across the city’s parks, green spaces and median strips. The effort, described as “a start to a livable city with a clean and well‑maintained environment,” aims to improve aesthetics, hygiene and safety during the summer season.

In Kuşadası, municipal crews have similarly cleared invasive vegetation from neighbourhood parks, a mosque courtyard, a synthetic‑grass field and school yards, focusing on areas frequented by children and worshippers. Local mayor Murat Ertan thanked the teams, noting the work enhances safety and cleanliness for residents. Both municipalities plan to maintain these activities throughout the summer to preserve urban aesthetics, reduce fire risk and prevent pest infestations.
