Turkish municipalities launch stationery support for students
Local authorities in Turkey are implementing various initiatives to support students and local businesses ahead of the new academic year.
In Gaziantep, a project coordinated by the Governor's Office has provided stationery cards to approximately 28,000 students in need. Each card is valued at 1,250 Turkish Lira and can be used at stationery businesses registered with the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce and the Printers' Chamber. The project, funded by philanthropic contributions totaling nearly 40 million Lira, aims to assist families with educational costs while stimulating local commerce.
In Kadıköy, the municipality is distributing stationery sets to approximately 3,000 first-grade students entering state schools. These sets include essential items such as pens, erasers, notebooks, and drawing supplies. Kadıköy Mayor Mesut Kösedağı issued messages to students and parents, emphasizing the municipality's commitment to ensuring children grow up in equal, free, and happy environments.
