Kahramanmaraş Pusula Maraş Youth Camps Kick Off with Traditional Games and Astronomy Theme

The Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality’s youth brand Pusula Maraş launched its summer camp series at the Çınar Geçidi in Andırın. The first camp, themed “Traditional Turkish Games”, gathered 100 teenagers for two days of folk sports such as oil wrestling, mangala, tug‑of‑war and other games, complemented by music sessions, talks and personal‑development activities.

A second camp followed with the “TÜBİTAK Astronomy and Space” theme, organized with support from AFAD, TÜBİTAK and Kahramanmaraş İstiklal University. Participants observed the night sky through telescopes, attended lectures by astronomers and engaged in teamwork and problem‑solving exercises.

Both camps aim to enhance personal, social and academic growth of youths and are part of a broader program that will continue throughout the summer with additional themes covering sport, culture, art and nature.
