Turkish municipalities secure ministry funding for waste trucks and local projects
The Keşan municipal council will hold an extraordinary meeting on 10 August 2026 to consider a 12.6 million‑TL environmental‑revenue assistance from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change for the purchase of two large waste‑collection trucks, along with additional grants and technical support for road and sidewalk works.
A delegation from Bilecik, including Pazaryeri mayor Zekiye Tekin, met with Minister Murat Kurum in Ankara to discuss priority investment projects for the Pazaryeri district. The talks focused on planned infrastructure and service improvements aligned with the national “Turkey Century” vision, and the delegation expressed gratitude for the minister’s support.
Both meetings illustrate ongoing efforts by Turkish local governments to obtain central‑government funding for municipal services and development projects.
