Turkish municipalities upgrade urban parks with security and modern facilities

Turkish municipalities in Kayseri and Mersin are implementing various upgrades to urban green spaces and recreational areas, focusing on security and modernization.

In Kayseri, the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality has equipped its national gardens, parks, and hobby gardens with modern security camera systems. Managed by the Smart City and Information Technology Department, these real-time monitoring systems cover locations such as the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan National Garden, Mimar Sinan Park, and several hobby gardens. The project specifically targets playground areas to ensure the safety of children and families.

In Mersin, the Yenişehir Municipality has announced a comprehensive renovation program for its parks and social living areas scheduled for 2026. Key initiatives include the Vadi Project in the 50 Yıl neighborhood and the renovation of Körfez Park, which will feature a cafeteria and baby care rooms. The municipality is also integrating camera systems into 17 parks, upgrading lighting to solar-powered systems, and installing automatic irrigation to improve water efficiency.
