Turkish officials and political leaders visit local press organizations

In Turkey, regional media officials and political figures have conducted visits to local press organizations to discuss the state of journalism.

In Akçaabat, Murat Güler, the Trabzon Regional Director of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, and Ali Nuhoğlu, the Trabzon Regional Director of the Press Advertisement Agency, visited the new office of Akçaabat Yeni Haber Gazetesi. During the meeting with owner İsmail Topal, the officials discussed the current status of local media and the importance of journalistic activities.

In Adana, Nihal Ağca, General Secretary and Deputy Chairperson of the Anahtar Parti, visited the Çukurova Journalists Association. Ağca addressed the challenges faced by journalists in both local and national media, emphasizing the need for conditions that allow for free and ethical reporting. She also expressed support for the association's new charter, which includes a ‘two-term’ limit for leadership, suggesting that similar renewal processes should be applied within the political sphere to prevent stagnation.
