Turkish officials hold seminars on child online safety and cognitive security

In Nazilli, Aydın Province, a seminar coordinated by the district governorate addressed the safety of children’s education processes online. Officials including the Nazilli District Governor Huriye Küpeli Kan, the local police chief, gendarmerie commander, mufti, and education officials presented on social‑media crimes, safe internet use and the new protocol for protecting children’s education that entered into force on 24 April 2026. The event also included a brief on forest‑fire prevention measures.

In Ankara, the Presidency Communication Presidency and the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) organized a “Cognitive Security and Gamified Disinformation” seminar at Ankara University’s Faculty of Communication. Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar and Dean Prof. Dr. Fatih Keskin highlighted ethical design of digital games, algorithmic manipulation, AI‑driven disinformation and digital‑security challenges for youths. The two‑session program featured eight guest speakers, a workshop with about 35 students, and participation from officials of the Presidency, BTK and other agencies.
