Turkish parties seek Ardahan governor’s reinstatement, name Turk liaison
DATÜB deputy chair Burhan Özkoşar wrote to Ardahan’s MPs asking them to urge the presidency to reverse Governor Çiçekli’s removal, describing the dismissal as a “jealousy attack” and calling for a meeting with the president. He warned that the governor’s ouster could set a negative precedent for the province’s development.
The Great Union Party (BBP) announced that Ünsal Tokuç, a longtime party figure based in Germany, will serve as Deputy Chairman responsible for European Turkic communities. His duties include contacting Turkish civil‑society organisations in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Austria and other EU states to address issues such as language, education, discrimination and cultural identity, and to relay their concerns to the party’s central leadership.
