Turkish police arrest suspects in Batman murder case, seize illegal weapons in Izmir

Turkish authorities announced the resolution of a 19‑year‑old honour‑based murder in Batman's Kozluk district. After a coordinated raid on July 1 in three provinces, ten suspects were detained; six were sentenced to prison on charges of premeditated murder with honour motive, while the remaining four were released under judicial control.

In a separate operation in İzmir's Ödemiş and Torbalı districts, police recovered a cache of illegal firearms, including 14 unlicensed hunting rifles, several pistols and ammunition, and arrested one individual who was subsequently taken into custody.
