Turkish political figures address youth engagement and regional employment
Hüseyin Benek, the founding district president of the YENİ Party in Pursaklar, has called for a shift in political discourse to prevent the alienation of young people. Benek argued that political parties should act as competitors rather than enemies, emphasizing that harsh and divisive language increases social distrust. He suggested that parties should create social environments where youth can engage in debate and participate in decision-making processes rather than being treated merely as supporters.
In a separate regional context, Zülküf Yıldırım, the HÜDA PAR district president for Eğil, highlighted the issue of youth migration driven by unemployment. Yıldırım noted that young people are forced to leave their hometowns for construction work elsewhere due to a lack of local opportunities. To combat this, he proposed investments in industry, agriculture, and fisheries, including the establishment of an industrial site, agricultural cooperatives, and fish farms in local dams to foster economic development and local employment.
