Turkish political leaders call for legal and governance reforms

Political figures and representatives in Turkey are raising concerns regarding the rule of law, state governance, and recent economic instabilities. Bülent Kuşoğlu, Vice President of the CHP, addressed allegations of fund operations and the potential flight of millions of euros to Switzerland. He characterized the situation as a potential state crisis driven by mismanagement and inadequate oversight by the Capital Markets Board (SPK), calling for the removal of responsible officials to ensure a healthy investigation.

In a separate discussion on the role of the state, Zafer Party official Özcan Pehlivanoğlu emphasized that the state's primary purpose should be serving the nation rather than the nation serving the state. He argued that current legal injustices and economic hardships stem from a flawed management mindset. Pehlivanoğlu advocated for a system where the rights, dignity, and property of citizens are protected through predictable and impartial legal frameworks.

Additionally, İbrahim Gök stressed that strengthening the rule of law is essential for economic development, noting that legal security is a prerequisite for investor confidence and social trust.
