Turkish political parties intensify election and candidacy preparations
Political activities are intensifying in Turkey as party members begin early preparations for future parliamentary candidacy. Within the Yeni Parti, the party statutes allow for five different methods to determine parliamentary and local government candidates, including primary elections, organizational supervision, and central surveys. Because the Party Assembly decides which method to use based on provincial feedback, potential candidates are using current district and provincial elections to increase their visibility and establish connections with the party base.
Separately, the AK Party held an election affairs consultation meeting in Konya. AK Party Konya Provincial Chairman Fatih Özgökçen emphasized that the organization maintains continuous field presence rather than only during election periods. The meeting, attended by various party officials, focused on election preparations, field studies, ballot box security, and voter communication.
