Turkey advances 'Terror-free Turkey' process toward legal phase
Turkish officials have provided updates on the 'Terror-free Turkey' process, a national initiative aimed at resolving long-standing security issues. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated that the process has reached its final stage, emphasizing that the effort is not merely a military success but also involves combating ethnic discrimination and promoting democratic unity through nationwide investments.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz highlighted the massive economic impact of terrorism, estimating its direct cost to the country at a minimum of 2.3 trillion dollars. He explained that the current phase involves verifying the laying down of weapons and the disbanding of organizational structures. Once these field conditions are confirmed by the National Security Council, the process will transition into a legal and judicial phase coordinated by the Ministry of Justice.
