Turkish Red Crescent to provide prosthetic for Gazan man

Mahmud Fuat el-Dehşan, a 64-year-old resident of the Gaza Strip who lost his leg during Israeli attacks in November 2023, has received a commitment for medical aid from the Turkish Red Crescent.

While returning to Gaza from Egypt via the Rafah Crossing, el-Dehşan reported that Israeli soldiers confiscated the prosthetic leg he had acquired in Egypt. He stated that an Israeli officer presented him with a choice between his prosthetic leg and a wheelchair, forcing him to choose the latter.

Following the loss of his prosthetic, el-Dehşan sought assistance at the Gaza Municipality Prosthetics and Orthotics Center. The Turkish Red Crescent has since undertaken to provide him with a custom prosthetic leg, covering all associated costs to help him regain his mobility.
