Turkish regional authorities launch agricultural support initiatives

Agricultural authorities in Turkey are implementing various support programs to bolster local production and address biological threats. In the Kaynaşlı district of Düzce, the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry held an information session for producers in Eskiköy. The program focused on agricultural support applications, production schedules, and strategies to combat the brown marmorated stink bug, a pest that threatens crop yield and quality.

In Kocaeli, the Metropolitan Municipality is introducing a mushroom production tent project to promote rural development. Eligible producers who have completed certification through the local Agriculture Academy can receive tents with a 75 percent grant. The initiative specifically targets oyster mushroom cultivation and aims to encourage young people to engage in sustainable agricultural production, providing new income sources for rural families.
