Turkish regional theatres and cinemas report record attendance in 2025‑2026

Kocaeli City Theatres closed the 2025‑2026 season after attracting 86,538 audience members across 231 productions, including four new plays and a successful appearance at the 10th Berlin Turkish‑German Theatre Festival.

In Erzurum, the 2025 cinema season drew 192,643 viewers to 24 screens that showed 292 films, while the 2024/25 theatre season logged 98,762 spectators across 25 venues, with 48 different works presented in 299 performances. Nationally, 771 films were shown in 2025, and total cinema attendance fell 15% to 27.66 million.
