Turkish repairers see business boost from school season and rain
The start of the school season combined with early rainfall has significantly increased business for shoe and bag repairers in Turkey. Following a three-month period of stagnation during the summer, local tradespeople are experiencing a surge in demand for repairing shoes, bags, and suitcases.
Repairers report that university students are frequently bringing in suitcases damaged during intercity travel, while students of all levels are seeking repairs for school bags. Additionally, early rains have led to an increase in requests to fix leather shoes and boots that are leaking water. Local artisans expect this period of high activity to continue for another 1.5 to 2 months before the business cycle stabilizes again.
