Turkish researchers develop AI model for Parkinson's disease
A collaborative research project involving İEÜ Medical Point Hospital and four universities has received funding from TÜBİTAK to develop an artificial intelligence model for Parkinson's disease. The initiative includes Izmir University of Economics, Izmir Bakırçay University, Celal Bayar University, and Istanbul Gedik University.
Led by Prof. Dr. Figen Eşmeli, the project aims to utilize Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to create a predictive model based on clinical data and patient information. The goal is to facilitate early diagnosis, monitor disease progression, and provide personalized rehabilitation programs tailored to the specific needs of individual patients to improve their quality of life.
The interdisciplinary team consists of experts from medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
