Turkey implements widespread government and diplomatic appointments

A series of presidential decrees published in the Official Gazette has initiated a large-scale reshuffle across the Turkish public administration. The appointments affect multiple sectors, including the judiciary, diplomacy, and religious services.

In the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), approximately 35 provincial muftis have been reassigned or replaced. Key changes include the appointment of Ahmet Bostancı as the President of the Diyanet Academy and various rotations among provincial religious leaders. Additionally, the Council of State (Sayıştay) appointed Recep Çevik as Chief Prosecutor.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs saw significant diplomatic shifts, with new ambassadors appointed to 12 countries, including the Philippines, Finland, Bahrain, Oman, Namibia, South Korea, Sudan, North Macedonia, Somalia, Gambia, and Mozambique. Several existing ambassadors were recalled to the central administration.

Other administrative changes were noted within the Ministries of Family and Social Services, Culture and Tourism, National Defense, and Agriculture and Forestry. Furthermore, the Council of State and various high-level boards received new leadership. In the judicial sector, the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) also implemented new regulations regarding the jurisdictional boundaries of several courts to optimize workload and geographic accessibility.
