Turkish security forces train divers in Van Lake and rescue injured at Aydın's Cumburlop Bay
Police and gendarmerie personnel from Bitlis province received two‑star diver certification in a project supported by the Interior Ministry. Under a protocol with the Bitlis governorate, 20 officers from each service completed theoretical and practical sessions at the Adilcevaz Diving School, learning equipment use, safety procedures and underwater navigation. The training aims to enable night dives and depths up to 24 metres, with future sessions planned for September.
In Aydın’s Didim district, Coast Guard units carried out a sea‑borne evacuation after a person was injured in the inaccessible Cumburlop Bay. Because land access was impossible, a boat was dispatched, the victim was lifted aboard and handed over to medical teams. Authorities highlighted the importance of maritime coordination for similar emergencies.
