Turkish series 'Susuz Yaz' launches nationwide search for new actress to play Bahar

Ay Yapım is preparing a new season of the television series "Susuz Yaz," based on Necati Cumalı’s 1962 novel of the same name. The production team has opened a broad casting call to find a fresh, unknown actress to portray the character Bahar, deliberately avoiding established stars. The screenplay is written by Sema Ergenekon and the series will be directed by Yusuf Pirhasan. Filming is slated for the city of Adana, with a planned broadcast in September or October.

The search aims to introduce new talent to the Turkish screen, echoing the original film’s debut of Hülya Koçyiğit at age 16. Production details such as the broadcasting channel have not yet been confirmed.
