Turkish singer Aybüke Albere detained in Istanbul drug probe
Aybüke Albere, a 36‑year‑old singer‑songwriter from İzmir known for tracks such as “Ne Diyorsan” and “Yak,” was taken into custody in Istanbul on 16 July 2026. The detention is part of a broader operation conducted by the Bakırköy Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı targeting public figures suspected of using, facilitating or providing illegal drugs or stimulants.
The prosecutor’s office announced that 25 individuals were subject to arrests, searches and biological examinations, with the Istanbul İl Jandarma Komutanlığı executing the orders. Albere’s arrest follows her earlier career moves, including vocal work for Murat Boz and participation in the 2014 “O Ses Türkiye” talent show.
