Turkish singer Ayşe Hatun Önal denies drug use after prosecutor interview

Ayşe Hatun Önal, a singer and former model, was detained by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of a wider drug probe targeting public figures. She was placed under judicial control and denied all accusations, stating she has never used narcotics and only takes sleeping medication for insomnia. Medical tests ordered by the prosecutor’s office came back negative for illegal substances. During questioning, Önal also addressed past attendance at Kasım Garipoğlu’s well‑known yacht parties, confirming she had visited the events a few times nine years ago.

The prosecutor’s office continues the investigation, but Önal maintains her innocence and emphasizes that any alleged drug‑related questions are unfounded.
