Women’s Handicraft Exhibitions in Turkey Attract Hundreds of Visitors

In Güzelyurt, Nevşehir, a five‑day exhibition in the Hilal Mosque’s lower hall showcased 571 handmade items created by local women and girls who attended vocational courses. The opening was attended by Nevşehir’s provincial mufti and municipal officials, and visitors praised the craftsmanship.

In Şahinbey, Gaziantep, the municipality’s social facilities hosted a separate display featuring about 650 products across 20 categories, including bedding, prayer rugs and bridal accessories. The exhibit highlighted how vocational training enables women to earn income, support family budgets and preserve traditional crafts.

Both events illustrate municipal efforts to empower women through skill development and to promote cultural heritage, drawing strong community interest in different regions of Turkey.
