Turkey holds kite-flying events in solidarity with Gaza children

Under the coordination of the Turkish Ministry of National Education, various cities across Turkey and Istanbul have organized kite-flying events to express solidarity with children in Gaza. The initiative, held under the slogan ‘Let the kites not be shot, let the sky remain for the children’, aims to raise awareness about the impact of conflict on children and advocate for their fundamental rights to safety, education, and peace.

In Istanbul, students from several schools participated in an event on the Bosphorus, flying kites featuring the colors of the Turkish and Palestinian flags. Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education, Murat Mücahit Yentür, described the suffering of children in Gaza as ‘a dark stain on the history of humanity’ and emphasized that the kites symbolize freedom.

Similar awareness programs were held in multiple Turkish provinces, including Van, Kars, Konya, Bayburt, Gümüşhane, Kırıkkale, Çorum, and Burdur. These events involved students, teachers, and parents coming together to send messages of hope and brotherhood to their Palestinian peers, highlighting the importance of humanitarian values and global solidarity.
