Turkish telecom companies advance 6G and AI research

Turkish telecommunications companies are increasing their involvement in the development of next-generation connectivity technologies. Turkcell engineers are participating in international efforts led by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to establish global technical standards for 6G. This work focuses on AI-native networks, where artificial intelligence becomes a fundamental component of network architecture, as well as satellite connectivity and next-generation radio technologies.

Simultaneously, Türk Telekom has established the Türk Telekom R&D and Innovation Science Board. The board includes six scientists from Turkey and abroad to bridge the gap between academia and the telecommunications industry. The initiative aims to focus on advanced technologies such as 6G, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, satellite communications, and next-generation networks to strengthen Turkey's role in global technology standards.
