Turkey reports 24 quarters of continuous economic growth
Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat has highlighted several key economic indicators and sectoral achievements during recent industrial and textile fairs. Bolat reported that Turkey has maintained continuous economic growth for 24 consecutive quarters. He noted that the country has risen to become the 16th largest economy in the world, and the 11th when measured by purchasing power parity.
In the textile and ready-to-wear sectors, Bolat stated that Turkey holds a 3.6% share of the global export market, amounting to $31 billion. Specifically, textile and raw material exports reached $9.4 billion, while ready-to-wear and confection exports stood at $18.6 billion. The minister also emphasized the importance of the logistics sector, which contributes $115 billion to the national income and has placed Turkey 9th globally in logistics and transport services.
Regarding export targets, Bolat announced that the country aims to exceed $282 billion in goods exports and $410 billion in total exports (including services) by the end of the year. He also noted that industrial products account for 94% of Turkey's total exports, with 43.5% consisting of medium-high and high-technology products. Additionally, the minister highlighted that the first eight months of the year saw significant export growth, reaching $185 billion.
