Turkish Theater wins four awards at Dyrrachium festival
The production ‘Blind’ (Slepci) by the Turkish Theater from Skopje won four awards at the inaugural Dyrrachium International Theater Festival held in Durrës, Albania, from September 15 to 25.
Directed by Kendrim Rijani, the play received honors for Best Production and Best Director. The ensemble was awarded for Best Acting Ensemble, and actress Suzan Akbelge received a special jury recognition. The play’s text is a fusion of Maurice Maeterlinck’s drama ‘Blind’ and Amin Maalouf’s essayistic book ‘Lost Identities.’
This success follows previous accolades at the Vojdan Chernodrinski Macedonian Theater Festival in Prilep, where the production also earned multiple awards. The play is scheduled to perform in Skopje on October 1 at the Komedija Theater.
