Turkish tourism sector faces rising costs amid expansion plans

The Turkish tourism sector is experiencing a divergence between rising revenues and increasing operational costs. Oya Narin, Chairperson of the Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TTYD), noted that while the sector is seeing positive revenue trends and a recovery since July, high costs continue to challenge operators. Narin emphasized that improving access to financing is critical for sustaining investment momentum and strengthening tourism's role as a pillar of the Turkish economy.

In line with industry growth, Elite World Hotels & Resorts has announced an expansion plan to open 23 new hotels over the next four years. The company aims to increase its total portfolio to 70 hotels by 2030. This expansion includes projects across various Turkish regions—such as Istanbul, Antalya, and Anatolian cities like Sivas and Gaziantep—as well as international developments in Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, and Ivory Coast.
