Turkey inbound tourism reaches 25.8 million in H1 2026

Turkey recorded 25.8 million international visitors in the first half of 2026, generating tourism revenue of about $25.746 billion. The Culture and Tourism Ministry, led by Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, reported that the top source markets remained Russia with 2.65 million visitors, Germany with 2.44 million, and the United Kingdom with 1.58 million. Average length of stay rose to 10.01 nights and average nightly spending reached $109 per visitor.

Turkish outbound travel also showed notable figures: citizens abroad spent $5.187 billion, a slight 0.4 % decline from the previous year, while purchases of souvenirs and gifts amounted to $362 million. Accommodation and food‑and‑beverage expenses abroad increased, with hotel spending rising to $1.313 billion and dining to $1.055 billion.

These statistics underline Turkey’s continued strength as a global tourism destination and reflect modest growth in both inbound and outbound travel sectors.
