Turkish towns draw thousands to free summer open‑air cinema screenings

The Osmangazi district municipality in Bursa launched its free summer cinema series, converting the Bağlarbaşı neighborhood square into an open‑air screen. The animated film “Efsane Takım Bilim Kahramanları” was shown to children and families, with popcorn provided by municipal crews, and the event received strong local praise.

In the Ormanya recreation area of Kocaeli, the metropolitan municipality organized a night‑time open‑air cinema featuring the film “Ice Age”. More than 10,000 spectators—children and adults—gathered to watch the movie in a natural setting, with popcorn, tea and water offered. Both programmes are part of a broader municipal effort to offer safe, free cultural and recreational activities throughout the summer.
