Turkish towns expand free student exam prep centers in Turhal and Bingöl

The Turhal Municipality upgraded the Turhal Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (TUGİM) to accommodate 110 students, adding a second floor with space for 60 learners at a time. The centre provides free internet, a quiet and secure workspace, and extended hours until 23:00 on weekdays and 18:00 on weekends. Mayor Mehmet Erdem Ural said the new area allows more children to study safely and helps keep them away from harmful habits.

In Bingöl, the Zıkte Sustainable Development Platform operates the Murat Education Center, a volunteer‑run facility that offers free preparation for exams such as LGS, YKS‑TYT and KPSS. About 160 students take weekly mock exams, with regular sessions for 20‑25 KPSS candidates, 10 TYT candidates and 25 LGS candidates. The centre relies on volunteer teachers and charitable sponsors to provide free study space, meals and other support.

Both initiatives aim to improve academic outcomes for local youth by removing cost barriers and creating structured, motivating study environments.
