Turkish towns İznik and Denizli launch summer open‑air cinema series
The İznik municipality started its summer cultural program with open‑air animation film screenings on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and music performances on Fridays along the town’s shoreline. The events attracted many families and children, and Mayor Kağan Mehmet Usta said, "İlçemizde bu tür kültürel etkinlikler düzenlemekten ve sizlerin katılımından büyük mutluluk duyuyoruz."
Meanwhile, the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality is hosting a free Open‑Air Cinema from 8 July to 1 September 2026 at the Ziya Tıkıroğlu Open‑Air Theatre. Over 7 years old can attend; tickets are obtained via an e‑ticket system. The program will show a range of Turkish films, from classics to recent productions, and provides free popcorn and soda. Mayor Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu emphasized, "Denizli'mizi kültürün, sanatın ve bir arada yaşama sevincinin coşkuyla hissedildiği bir şehir haline getirmek için çalışıyoruz," highlighting the event’s role in fostering community and cultural memory.
