Turkish towns upgrade child parks in Samsun and Bilecik

The İlkadım district of Samsun is implementing a "Safe Parks" programme that equips eight parks with security cameras, upgrades lighting, repairs playground equipment and refurbishes park furniture. Mayor İhsan Kurnaz said the project aims to improve safety, comfort and accessibility for children and families, and a further 11 parks are slated for similar upgrades once tendering is complete. The new systems are linked to the provincial police network.

In Osmaneli, Bilecik, the municipality has opened two new children’s parks – one on Beşevler Street in the Camikebir neighbourhood and another beside the local kindergarten. Both sites feature modern play structures, rubber flooring, new fencing and landscaped surroundings. Mayor Bekir Torun highlighted the parks as part of ongoing efforts to provide safe, family‑friendly public spaces and raise the town’s quality of life.
