Turkish Trade Minister Bolat meets Italian Deputy PM Tajani in Rome

Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat met with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in Rome to discuss strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations. The discussions focused on increasing mutual investments and exploring opportunities for Turkish and Italian companies to collaborate on projects in third countries.

A key priority of the meeting was the modernization of the Turkey-EU Customs Union, specifically regarding digital trade, services, and public procurement. The ministers also addressed the European Union’s new industrial policies and the ‘Made in EU’ approach. Discussions emphasized that Turkey is an integral part of the European industrial ecosystem, particularly in sectors such as automotive, machinery, white goods, defense, and aerospace, where supply chains are deeply integrated.

In addition to the ministerial talks, Bolat participated in a meeting with representatives of the Italian business community to further explore cooperation in critical areas including space and defense technologies, energy, telecommunications, and infrastructure.
