Turkish truck driver detained in Syria after border dispute

Ali Yıldırım, a 24-year-old truck driver from Hatay, Turkey, has reportedly been detained in Syria during his first international trip. According to his family, Yıldırım was transporting a vehicle from Jordan to Turkey via Syria at the request of his employer.

The incident allegedly occurred at the Bab al-Hawa border crossing following a dispute with officials regarding the vehicle being towed. His father, Devrim Yıldırım, stated that the young driver was handcuffed and taken to Sarmada Prison. The family has received only a single voice message from him confirming his location, but they have had no further information regarding his health or legal status.
