Nuri Bilge Ceylan's 'Yorgun Güneş' finishes filming in Istanbul and Assos

Director Nuri Bilge Ceylan has completed production on his new film Yorgun Güneş. Shooting began in early June in Istanbul and later moved to the coastal town of Assos, where the remaining scenes were wrapped. Lead actress Pınar Deniz announced the end of the shoot on social media, posting a photo with the director and noting that filming was now "paydos" (finished). The movie stars Altan Erkekli as the father Sabri and Pınar Deniz as his daughter Defne, with supporting roles filled by Osman Sonant, Kerem Bürsin, Mahir İpek, Serkan Ercan, and Şebnem Hassanisoughi. Post‑production work on editing and sound design is now underway as the film prepares for its festival circuit.

The project continues the tradition of Ceylan’s psychologically driven storytelling, focusing on generational conflict and family ties set against the backdrop of Ankara and the Aegean coast.
